Asphalt patching machines

SILKOT® asphalt patching machines – infrared pothole repairs and asphalt recycling

Asphalt machines are used for heating and processing asphalt mixes during the construction and maintenance of transport infrastructure. We offer technological solutions designed for demanding operating and climatic conditions. Our asphalt machines allow pothole repairs even at temperatures down to -5 °C.

SILKOT asphalt patching machines

SILKOT® asphalt machines are manufactured by Kotrbatý as our in-house solution for fast and high-quality repairs of potholes and damaged roads. The name SILKOT® was created by combining the words Road (SILnice) Kotrbatý (KOT), referring to our long-term experience in road technologies.

Asphalt repairs using infrared radiation

Our asphalt machines use infrared asphalt heating, enabling efficient and long-lasting road repairs. The damaged spot and its surroundings are heated up to 180 °C, ensuring perfect bonding between the original asphalt and the newly added material.
A major advantage of this technology is the possibility of reusing the original milled or broken asphalt. The operator sweeps it up, heats it, and mixes it with new asphalt as needed. The result is a seamless repair without weak points.
Thanks to infrared heating, asphalt repairs can also be carried out in winter, even at sub-zero temperatures, which significantly extends the construction season.

Why repair roads with SILKOT® machines?

Road repairs using SILKOT® asphalt machines are:

  • seamless
  • zero-waste
  • high-quality

SILKOT – mobile equipment for asphalt repair

Mobile SILKOT® units represent modern technology for year-round repairs of asphalt pavements using reclaimed asphalt (RAP). Thanks to infrared heating and regeneration of milled asphalt, they enable fast, high-quality, and significantly cheaper pothole repairs without creating joints.

SILKOT 70-80

Technology and machine design

The basic and most important part of the SILKOT 70–80 machine is:

  • an insulated heating hopper with a capacity of approximately 1.1 m³ of reclaimed asphalt
  • rear tilting infrared heating head

Other main structural assemblies:

  • a dual-axle chassis with a tilting ramp for a roller
  • a winch with a supporting structure for tilting the rear head
  • a gas system with three LPG tanks
  • an electrical system with a battery, charger, and control cabinets

Asphalt recycling without degradation

A major advantage of SILKOT® technology is the use of waste from milling asphalt pavements. The reclaimed material is heated in an insulated hopper to 150–160 °C, without the risk of burning the old asphalt.

This prepared material:

  • retains its binder properties
  • achieves quality comparable to the original asphalt mix
  • can be fully reused for road repairs

Year-round operation and low costs

Repairs can be carried out even in winter, down to temperatures of −10 °C. At lower temperatures, it is technically possible to perform repairs, but costs increase significantly.

Additional benefits of the technology:

  • operation by only two trained workers
  • the repaired area does not crack
  • repair cost is 2–2.5× lower than with conventional technologies
  • environmentally responsible disposal of problematic asphalt waste
  • LPG refuelling at standard filling stations

The technology used extends the service life of the repaired pavement by at least 3–5 years.

SILKOT 70–80 variants

  • SILKOT 70–80 – tractor-towed version
  • SILKOT 70–80 VA – vehicle-towed version
  • SILKOT 70–80 TH – both variants with the option of exchanging 33 kg propane (PB) cylinders and a hoist

SILKOT 10

A compact solution as a vehicle body

SILKOT 10 is based on the same proven technology as the SILKOT 70–80, but the entire unit is designed as a body mounted on a truck chassis.

Customer:

  • provides their own vehicle
  • or we can supply a new or used vehicle

SILKOT 10 variants

  • SILKOT 10 TH – with exchange of 33 kg propane (PB) cylinders and a hoist

Infrared asphalt heaters and recyclers ICP 30–200

ICP 30–200 – fast and efficient asphalt repair

The ICP 30–200 infrared asphalt heater and recycler is a lightweight, mobile, and high-performance unit designed for rapid repairs of potholes and damaged asphalt surfaces. Thanks to sequential infrared heating, it can prepare asphalt for repair in just 5–9 minutes (depending on outdoor temperature, humidity, and wind).

In one cycle, it is possible to heat up to 3.7 m² of asphalt, which significantly increases work productivity and reduces the time required for road repairs.

Easy operation and maximum flexibility

The unit is designed with an emphasis on easy handling directly at the repair site. Operation requires only 1–2 workers, which reduces staffing costs and simplifies work organization.

Four self-regulating heating zones make it possible to adjust the size of the heated area to the specific scope of the repair and optimize energy consumption.

Transport without restrictions

Transporting the ICP 30–200 heater is possible on any platform with minimum dimensions of 160 × 300 cm and a load capacity of 280 kg – typically on the cargo bed of a truck or on a small passenger trailer.

Technical specifications of ICP 30–200
