KSP radiant panels in sports hall – ballwurfsicherheit DIN 18032-3

Extension of Ballwurfsicherheit certification for KSP radiant panels

On November 6, 2025, we successfully completed another Ballwurfsicherheit test according to DIN 18032-3 (category D1) carried out by the certified laboratory MPA Stuttgart.

This confirms and extends the certification that our KSP radiant panels have held continuously since 2013.

The Ballwurfsicherheit certification confirms that the product is safe for use in sports halls and gymnasiums, where installed equipment must withstand repeated ball impacts without damage.

What Ballwurfsicherheit according to DIN 18032-3 means

The DIN 18032-3 standard defines requirements for equipment installed in sports halls.

Products must be resistant to ball impact and must not, when hit:

  • suffer structural damage
  • release any parts
  • endanger the safety of athletes

The test simulates impacts from a handball travelling at approximately 60 km/h.

A product passes the test only if, after 24 impacts, it remains undamaged and without any loosened parts.

Certified KSP radiant panels for sports halls

The Ballwurfsicherheit test was successfully passed by the entire range of KSP radiant panels, including all structural variants:

All variants are also available in stainless steel. Our panels are also equipped with VYRTYCH BISON and VYRTYCH PITBULL industrial luminaires, which have likewise successfully passed the same test.

Thanks to this, the entire system can be safely used in environments with intensive sports activity.

Reliability for designers and investors

For design engineers, investors and sports hall operators, the Ballwurfsicherheit certification primarily represents confidence that installed technologies meet strict safety requirements.

KSP radiant panels can therefore be safely specified for:

  • gymnasiums
  • sports halls
  • multifunctional sports facilities
  • school sports facilities

In addition to safety, radiant heating also provides even heat distribution and low operating costs, which is essential for large sports spaces.

Safety as a long-term standard

For us, safety and quality are not one-time requirements.

We have maintained the Ballwurfsicherheit certification according to DIN 18032-3 continuously for more than ten years, confirming the long-term reliability and structural durability of the KSP system.

For both investors and designers, this provides important assurance that the chosen solution will perform reliably even in the demanding environment of sports halls.
